ProScholar consulting firm is the first leading online resource for information on professional and academic scholarships established in East Africa. We offer our readers a free scholarships database where you can search and bookmark more than 1,300 scholarships and funding awards for individuals.
What is ProScholar’s mission?.
ProScholar’s mission is to make funding opportunities easier to find and to share advice on the competitive application process. All our content is voluntarily produced by current and former scholars/fellows who aim to pay-it-forward and inspire the next generation of aspiring winners.
Purpose & Vision.
Proscholar Consulting Firm (PCF) will encourage everyone who have an aspiration to apply for awards that will help them to achieve their goals. Anyone who’s willing to commit the substantial time and effort needed to apply for a competitive award or graduate program, we commit to providing our Somaliland community with the support and encouragement they needed. We are strongly against elitism and believe no one should be discouraged from engaging in the constructive process of applying for available scholarships and other awards.
What type of company is ProScholar?.
ProScholar Academy is an education consultancy firm established in Hargeisa, Somaliland. Proscholar‘s founder and director Mr. Saeed Abdi Jama is a one-time fellow, top master’s degree scholar and award winning social entrepreneur studied Master of Peace & Conflict Resolution from Tokyo-Japan and Master of Public Administration from St. Cloud, Minnesota-United States.
Who reads and uses ProScholar?.
ProScholar consulting firm attracts scholarship & fellowship seekers from all over the world. Since we have a growing readership in Somaliland, Somalia, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Nigeria. Most of our readers are early- and mid-career professionals in the social impact sector who are seeking funding for graduate school, professional development, research, and creative projects. 60% of our readers have a master’s or doctoral degree.
Proscholar’s values?.
We believe in knowledge-sharing. Before our founding, Scholarship, fellowships, and grants for individuals were primarily shared by word-of-mouth within privileged circles. Our mission is to make funding knowledge accessible to everyone, globally. We share knowledge about scholarship and fellowships through our website, articles, database, newsletter, social media and ProScholar academy. We receive emails and posts daily with requests for funding advice and we respond to each question freely, generously and to the best of our ability.

How can current and former scholars get involved?
Please join our Somali Scholars Network of current and former scholars globally! We have a LinkedIn group of more than 500+ members, we will launch our regular newsletter and we will host in-person events for fellows in Hargeisa-Somaliland. We will often hold joint alumni events with scholarship organizations and some of our events could get sponsored by scholarship organizations and universities.
